This might seem shocking to some of you, but i have a confession to make…im bored of World of Warcraft, and that’s probably because i suck at it. Im a level 44 mage without a mount because i don’t have enough gold. I quest solo most of the time because forming a solid party takes up alot of time. just like today, i spent 30 mins waiting for a priest at zul’farrak and when the priest got here and we were 10 minutes into the instance, our druid had to go because ‘this is not working…’. and another hunter decided to quit as well, so it was just me, the priest and a warrior.
and don’t get me started on being ganked constantly by hordes. are they so ugly that they must kill all the pretty alliances to validate themselves?
that’s why im turning my attentions to online virtual tabletop gaming. kinda like playing good ‘o times paper and pen rpg like ad&d but online. how’s it possible? well, with the power of the internet (and alot of scripting), something like this and this is created.
i havent got a clue how to work both of them, but here’s a rough idea. i create a game using the client and whoever’s interested could connect to my ip address with the client. kinda like multiplayer diablo or such. and the game master and the players could play out a custom game of rpg at the comfort of their homes, naked. im not surprised if there’s a nerd out there who jerks off to his two-handed bastard sword +3.
and speaking of ad&d, i just saw the most amazing thing in the WoTC forum.
